Digital Skills Volunteer
Education Outreach FoundationVerifiedNEW VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY: EOF x SafeStudy 📚
EOF has partnered with SafeStudy, an educational youth centre at Victoria Yards, Johannesburg. Our long-term vision is to create a Digital Learning Lab for SafeStudy learners and young people in the wider community. Fundraising is already underway.
In the meantime, EOF is supporting SafeStudy with tools, funding, research, volunteers and skills development, using their existing 10 computers and WiFi.
We’re looking for Digital Skills Volunteers to support Saturday digital skills sessions from 8am-12pm, now until December. Sessions are led by facilitators Kamo and Thobeka.
Volunteers will:
• Support learners one-on-one
• Help with computers and digital tools
• Encourage learners and build confidence
• Assist facilitators during practical activities
No teaching or technical expertise is needed — just patience, enthusiasm and a willingness to help.
What you'll do
- The project aims to improve young people’s digital literacy, confidence and independence by providing one-on-one support during practical learning sessions, while strengthening SafeStudy’s capacity to deliver digital education. It also creates meaningful opportunities for EOF volunteers to contribute their skills and time, while building the insight, experience and community support needed to develop the future Digital Learning Lab.
